allielujah: (Happy blanket.)

The internet is full of ridiculous things that mostly make me shake my head and wonder what in the world is wrong with people. But occasionally I find some that are incredibly moving, beautiful and amazing.

  • PostSecret
I start this list with, what I assume is, the most famous of the three I am going to post. This is updated every Sunday with new post cards full of secrets that people just need to get out. This community has grown immensely over the years, helping people realize they are not alone. They have, I believe, two books out full of postcards with a third book about to be released. I have sat in book stores and read through the post cards, smiled, laughed, worried and almost cried throughout the entire thing. I see myself in these words and magazine cut outs. I see those I love. I see hope. I see life. Everything.
  • Operation Beautiful
I love this site. I've heard of this idea but never realized there was a site dedicated to it. I've left "You're Beautiful" notes on napkins at my university, on post-its in books. I plan on going out tomorrow and purchasing some post-its then posting them on mirrors in bathrooms around town. Everyone should be reminded just how beautiful they really are.
  • GMH
GMH stands for "gives me hope". It is like FML but is for "optimists", as the site says. There are some beautiful, moving stories that make me have hope in humanity again. I almost cried throughout the majority of the first page. Seriously, check this one out of you don't read any of the others. I hope it makes your day as it did mine.
